KICKSTART LYRICS

ALL THE TROUBLE

Words and music by Michael Bachelier

Well, I waited for the moment to be perfect and I looked into your eyes and felt the words I spoke would certainly bring happiness and make you smile and let you know that I’m worthwhile to get to know.

So I tried to muster up my nerve and took a leap of into the twists and turns that always seem go along with hoping there’s a chance that I might somehow, maybe catch your eye.

And I think of all the trouble I go through just to bring about the chemistry that brings my heart to you. When I wonder if it’s worth the time I give, I just come to one conclusion: that the life I want to live is next to you.

So I follow you around just like a puppy and I hope that you will turn my way and maybe I’ll get lucky. I don’t like this game I have to play but maybe I’ll have you someday.

And I think of all the trouble I go through just to bring about the chemistry that brings my heart to you. When I wonder if it’s worth the time I give, I just come to one conclusion: that the life I want to live is next to you.

You know I’ve always felt this way. I need to find which words to say to you. And all the trouble I go through is worth it when I think of you. You make me want to be the best that I can be.

And I think of all the trouble I go through just to bring about the chemistry that brings my heart to you. When I wonder if it’s worth the time I give, I just come to one conclusion: that the life I want to live is next to you. To live is next to you. To live is next to you. To live is next to you.

DEAR MICHAEL

Words and music by Michael Bachelier

Dear Michael, I arrived at the reservation and I find it hard to understand these Indians.  With their backward ways and rituals, they just aren’t accepting me.  I came here ’cause I thought they had possibilities.

Hey man, you missed the boat and you’re drowning in your dreams.  You’re trying to change their ways and expect for them to be very grateful for the things you’ve done, when you haven’t done a thing.  You’re in a fantasy: they’re about to crown you king.

You think that I am wrong and have got nothing to give.  When I agreed to come here, I didn’t agree to live amongst all of these savages.  They just aren’t the same as me.  I came here with the hope to try to set them free.

You think that all they need is some economic help.  Must you judge people by they volume of their wealth?  What you’re building is a barrier, they just cannot penetrate.  Don’t you know that to help them, you have to relate?

Dear Michael, I just left the reservation and I think it was a waste of time and I just don’t think I can understand the way some people live.  I just don’t think I can see.  I was so close to them I could touch but they were so far from me.

Magic Moment

Words and Music by Michael Bachelier

As I saw your smiling face as you walked toward me, all your elegance and grace was easy to see. And you seemed so confident. And your smile would not relent, as we shared in this moment.

Chorus: Though the rain came pouring down. And the thunder  crashed around. We were calm ’cause we had found a magic moment there.

As we learned about each other it was plain to see, that I liked to be around you and you liked me. And my humor made you smile. And I really liked your style. You made me feel like a child.

Repeat Chorus

Bridge:: You were like a summer breeze to man who could not breath..

 Repeat Chorus

Leave The Lies Behind

Words By Michael Bachelier

Music By Wayne Bachelier, John Zellner and Michael Bachelier

Don’t embrace myopic vision.  Don’t use blinders when you see.

Don’t be hasty with decisions.  Let the truth just set you free.

Chorus: We can leave the lies behind.  Seek the truth and we will find

A better future for mankind, when we leave the lies behind.

Frightened by the path we’re taking.  Trying to make sense of it all.

Worried that we’re past the point of breaking.   Feeling like we’re headed for a fall.

Repeat Chorus

In The Dark

Words and Music by Michael Bachelier

Haven’t I cried more than I should but it hurts down inside?

Where did it go?  I thought our love would continue to grow.

From the moment we met, there was some kind of magic.

Can you simply forget all that time, what it meant?

Chorus: Four in the morning, I wake with a start.  Reaching for you, I grope in the dark.

How I long to hold you so near.  Tell me the reason why you can’t be here.

You say you care for me more than you had imagined

But that somehow you see it couldn’t be what it should be.

2nd Chorus: Four in the morning, I wake with a start.  Reaching for you, I grope in the dark.

How I wish that you’d realize to see the truth,  just look in my eyes.

Haven’t I cried more than I should but it hurts down inside?

Why did we part?  I feel I’m left here alone in the dark.

I WAITED

Words and music by Michael Bachelier

I’m just the past, out of time, trying to keep my head held high.  I never fooled myself for long, trying to pretend you weren’t gone.

Maybe it was the best way. The quicker the break, the less the pain.  I don’t believe that’s really true ’cause it’s taken me a while to get over you.

And I waited here all these years for you to hold in my arms.  And I wasted so many tears in search of your hidden charm.

You would return sometime. That thought was etched upon my mind. Living on hope from day to day.  I never learned how to stand the pain.

And I waited here all these years for you to hold in my arms.  And I wasted so many tears, in search of your hidden charm.  And I waited here all these years for you to hold in my arms.  And I wasted so many tears, in search of your hidden charm.

MANSION HIGH

Words and Music by Michael Bachelier

I feel so helpless when I see your tear roll down the landscape of lost hope. Your famine dances in its’ victory cheer. Your life raft is straying from its’ rope.

Chorus:  And far from here there lives a parasite, who possesses tools to help you win your fight.  But he’s content to drain the people dry, using God to build his mansion high.

I feel so helpless when I feel the ‘quake: the tremor of a race unearthed. The aid that finds its’ way to you much too late tries finally to rescue you from your curse.

Chorus:  And far from here there lives a parasite, who possesses tools to help you win your fight.  But he’s content to drain the people dry, using God to build his mansion high.

ECHOES FROM ABOVE

Words by Michael Bachelier

Music by Stephen Stewart

I can’t recall a time when you weren’t in my life. You helped me through the bad times. You taught me right from wrong.

You watched me as I grew. I guess I always knew that you were like an angel, sent here just for me.

Chorus: I hear echoes from above.  You gave me unconditional love.  And I know that you did everything out of love.

The man I am today, I guess I’d have to say is due to your great guidance. I never will repay.

Repeat Chorus

Bridge: And I can feel all the echoes from above me that take away my fear.

And you’re still there when I need a word to help me through the day.

Repeat Chorus

SOMEONE WHO LISTENS

Words and Music by Michael Bachelier

The raw simplicity of youth has touched me deep within my soul.

The way they comprehend their truth sends laughter to my heart, once cold.

Chorus:  And joy of the growth of their minds.  Constant discovery, each step they take.

As they look for the answers they find someone who listens to their kind.

The sense of humor they display, not quite developed in their minds.

But it’s still funny in it’s way, if only in the laughter they can find.

Repeat Chorus

The raw simplicity of youth has touched me deep within my soul.

The way they comprehend their truth sends laughter to my heart, once cold.

BLINK OF AN EYE

Words and Music by Michael Bachelier

I don’t know how to act.  I don’t know what to do.

There’s a hole in my heart.  We’re all lost without you.

Chorus: In the blink of an eye, you were carried away.

And I don’t know if there is anything to help us get through this day.

There were so many things  that we wanted to do.

I’m not sure if we can finish them without you.

repeat Chorus

Bridge: You must know how I feel.

I can hardly believe this is real.

I hope you understand

All the people you touched.  You were one special man.

I will miss you, my friend.  You just can’t be replaced.

All the memories of you, we will never erase.

repeat Chorus
